Reading Festival 2010 - 5 Must See Acts
5. Arcade Fire
Arcade Fire are back with new album, "The Suburbs" and there performance at Reading is a must see. Expect shivers down your spine when you hear songs like this...
4. Caribou
Daniel Snaith, or better known as his stage name, Caribou, released new album "Swim" this year. It is probably one of my favourite albums of 2010 and expect an amazing live performance from him. Lets hope that he can bring the sun out.
3. Foals
The indie rockers released "Total Life Forever" this year, and are renowned for there sublime live shows, expect a cracker, and get ready for frontman Yannis's wild antics.
2. The Maccabees
I shouldn't be allowed to say anything about this band because my view is very biased. With a mixture of songs off both "Colour It In" and "Wall Of Arms" the band will be the highlight of my festival, and hopefully yours. The rumour of a new song is also very promising, so look out for it.
1. The Libertines
The likely lads are back, after reforming especially for Reading & Leeds, the band make this festival a much sought after event. Rumours have been flying around about a new song, maybe, who knows what Doherty, Barat and co. have been up to. Can they live up to expectations? Of course.
So this years festival looks better than ever, and I am sure it will be. Other artists to look out for are Kele, The Joy Formidable, Goldheart Assembly, Mystery Jets, Funeral Party, Blood Red Shoes and I Blame Coco.
Oh, and one last thing. A wildcard act. Angelos Epithemiou. He doesn't clash with anyone on the Sunday, would be worth a watch...
See you there.

Ou Est Le Swimming Pool - R.I.P.
It was a sad day for all involved in the music industry yesterday.
After "Ou Est Le Swimming Pool's" performance at Pukkelpop festival yesterday in Belgium, the lead singer of the band, Charles Haddon, committed suicide. He was believed to have climbed to the top of a satellite mast before jumping off. The band were due to release an album in October and were very well known for there hit, "Dance The Way I Feel".

Foals - Spanish Sahara (with London Contemporary Orchestra)
Foals, the 5-piece from Oxford, are releasing a 3rd single off the brilliant album "Total Life Forever". This being "Spanish Sahara". This was the 1st teaser song to be leaked off the album back in January, so it is already fairly well-known.
The main reason i decided to blog about this track though is because it is being released in two bundles, one full of various remixes and one full of live versions, and a version done with additional strings. The additional strings were added to the track by the London Contemporary Orchestra, and in my view, it makes the track so much better, it adds another dimension to the song, creating this real dreamy effect. I can picture it with highlights of a great football game, and in my view, that is class.
There is one big downfall to this song. The original version is around 6 minutes and 50 seconds long, but this version only lasts around 3 minutes 50. Why? I really can't understand this. The long period of time on the original version allows the song to really build up to a climax point, and this would be just amazing on the additional strings version, but they have chosen to shorten it. I can't see the reasoning behind it. But all in all it still is a wonderful track by one of my favourite bands. Below is the song, see what you think of it...

Introduction.
I have been meaning to do this for a while now, so here it is. Expect to see mainly music reviews on here, from live shows, new albums and just all round new artists. Occasionally you may see the odd piece of random information on here, but I'll try to keep that on my twitter page (@patomills). So, here is teaser for what to expect from me. Mystery Jets are a band who I have overlooked for a while, not really paying much interest to what they are doing until up to now. There new album "Serotonin" is just fantastic, there is not one song on the record that I don't rate. The first single off the album, "Dreaming Of Another World", is a real uplifting song that has a nice summery vibe to it. I recommend you to go and buy the album now. Below is the song "Serotonin"
